Artist and oeuvre: See website of the artist or entry in the "pictorial atlas of art in the GDR". Frieder Heinze was as student of Wolfgang Mattheuer, Werner Tübke and Bernhard Heisig at the "Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst" in Leipzig. In the 1980ies, the artist became the most influential proponent of the small GDR-fraction of the "Neuen Wilden". In 1984, Frieder Heinze co-organized the legendary "1. Leipziger Herbstsalon". Artwork by Frieder Heinze is currently shown in the much acclaimed exhibition "Behind the Mask: Artists in the GDR" at Museum Barberini in Potsdam.
